Social Democratic Party (SDP) presidential candidate Prince Adewole Adebayo has declared that his pursuit of the presidency is driven solely by the need to confront and resolve Nigeria’s deep-seated national challenges, including poverty, insecurity, unemployment, weak institutions and infrastructure deficits.
Adebayo made the assertion while outlining his vision for a results-driven administration, emphasising that the office of the President must be used as an instrument for practical problem-solving rather than personal ambition or political theatrics.
“There is no problem that we have in Nigeria that good governance and leadership will not resolve in three years. The problems are visible to everyone. What Nigerians deserve now are practical solutions, not endless discussions,” he stated.
The SDP standard-bearer stressed that Nigeria’s difficulties stem primarily from leadership failure and misdirected priorities, not a shortage of human or natural resources. He pledged that an Adebayo-led government would prioritise the security and welfare of citizens as the central measure of success.
He set ambitious targets, including the creation of 30 million jobs through agriculture, manufacturing, digital innovation and enterprise development, as well as a long-term electricity generation capacity of between 50,000 and 75,000 megawatts to power industrialisation.
Adebayo further committed to ending what he described as government-enabled criminality, restructuring the security architecture towards intelligence-led and community-based approaches, expanding access to quality education, and delivering free and compulsory education alongside universal healthcare linked to the National Identification Number.
“We want a country where no one is hungry, no one is homeless, people can access medical care, those who want to work can find employment, and every child has access to quality education. Those are the issues the SDP will take to Nigerians,” he said.
The candidate urged Nigerians to judge any future administration including his own strictly by measurable results rather than promises or press statements. He called on citizens to use the 2027 elections to elect leaders who understand the nation’s problems and possess the competence and political will to solve them.
Adebayo reaffirmed that his candidacy is not about personal entitlement but about offering Nigerians a clear alternative focused on competent, accountable and people-centred governance.
