Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic policies have transformed Nigeria, laying a solid foundation for sustainable growth and enabling meaningful development across states.
Speaking in a recent engagement with journalists, Governor Sule stated that the bold reforms introduced by the Tinubu administration, particularly the removal of the fuel subsidy and the unification of the foreign exchange market, have created the economic conditions necessary for progress at both national and sub-national levels.
“Without the reforms of Mr President, most of the development we are seeing today, especially here in Nasarawa State, would not have happened,” the Governor said.
“The reforms have created the economic boom we are witnessing, and that is the reason we have been able to achieve what we have achieved. We are forever grateful to Mr President for these reforms, and we are also grateful to the people of Nigeria for accepting them. That is why we are where we are today.”
Governor Sule noted that the increased monthly allocations from the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC), resulting from improved federal revenue generation, have empowered state governments to invest more in infrastructure, education, healthcare, industrialisation, and human capital development.
He highlighted that Nasarawa State has leveraged the improved fiscal space to advance its industrialisation agenda, particularly in solid minerals processing and agriculture two sectors identified as the state’s competitive advantages. The Governor pointed to the establishment of lithium processing plants and expanded technical and vocational education programmes as concrete outcomes made possible by the improved economic environment.
Governor Sule described President Tinubu’s decisions as courageous and necessary, acknowledging that while the reforms brought short-term hardship, they have begun to yield measurable results in macroeconomic stability, investor confidence, and state-level development.
He reaffirmed Nasarawa State’s continued support for the Renewed Hope Agenda and expressed confidence that the ongoing reforms will further consolidate Nigeria’s path toward long-term prosperity.
