The Kano State Police Command has achieved a significant breakthrough in its ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and thuggery in the state, with the arrest of a notorious drug dealer and five suspected thugs during a targeted operation in Jaoji Quarters, Kano Metropolis.
On January 10, 2026, operatives attached to the Jaoji Police Division conducted a raid based on credible intelligence, leading to the apprehension of Hafizu Ali, a 25-year-old resident of Jaoji Quarters, identified as a key figure in the local drug trade. Alongside Ali, five suspected thugs were also taken into custody.
During the operation, law enforcement officers recovered various illicit drugs from the drug dealer. Additionally, dangerous weapons were seized from the suspected thugs, including four knives, two scissors, and an axe. These items are believed to have been used in criminal activities associated with drug-related violence and intimidation.

All suspects are currently in custody and undergoing thorough investigation. Upon completion, they will be charged to court to face the full weight of the law.
