The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is delighted to confirm that the Super Eagles of Nigeria will compete in a prestigious four-nation invitational tournament in Amman, Jordan, during the upcoming FIFA Men's International Window in March 2026.
The tournament, hosted in the Jordanian capital, will feature the three-time African champions Nigeria alongside Iran, hosts Jordan, and Costa Rica.
This high-profile mini-tournament provides an excellent opportunity for the Super Eagles to gain valuable international experience and continue their preparations following their impressive third-place finish at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
The Super Eagles, under the guidance of head coach Éric Chelle, will open their campaign against a strong Iran side coached by Amir Ghalenoei and bound for the 2026 FIFA World Cup on Friday, March 27, 2026, at the 17,000-capacity Amman International Stadium.
On Tuesday, March 31, 2026, Nigeria will face the host nation, Jordan, at the same venue, while the other matches include Jordan vs Costa Rica on Matchday 1 at the 62,000-capacity King Abdullah Sports City Stadium and Costa Rica vs. Iran on Matchday 2.
The full match schedule, including kick-off times, will be announced by the organizers in the coming days.
NFF President Ibrahim Musa Gusau expressed enthusiasm about the invitation: "We are grateful for this opportunity to test our team against quality opposition from different confederations. These matches will be crucial for building momentum, refining tactics, and giving our players vital competitive exposure as we look ahead to future challenges."
The Super Eagles' participation underscores the NFF's commitment to securing high-caliber friendlies and tournaments to elevate the team's performance on the global stage.
