In a recent interview with BBC News Yoruba, Raheem, who serves as Executive Director of Eleganza Industries the flagship company founded by his father, addressed widespread assumptions about his lifestyle and career pursuits. He emphasized his commitment to self-reliance, highlighting both his salaried role in the family business and external support for his passion in music.

“I earn my own money. I have a salary. People are investing in my music because they believe in what I’m doing,” Raheem stated. He further clarified, “I’m not just spending the chairman’s money; I work. I earn a salary. I have investors. People believe in my music and put money behind it.”

The young executive revealed that he has spent approximately 10 years closely studying and preparing for his leadership position at Eleganza Industries, following his father's example of building an empire through dedication and enterprise.

Chief Rasaq Okoya, founder of the Eleganza Group known for its manufacturing of household goods, plastics, and other products, has long emphasized the values of hard work to his children.

Raheem's dual pursuits in corporate leadership and music underscore his drive to carve out a personal legacy. By attracting independent investors to fund his creative ventures, he demonstrates belief in his vision beyond familial resources.

This statement comes amid ongoing public discussions about privilege, inheritance, and individual achievement in Nigeria's high-profile business families. Raheem's remarks serve as a testament to the next generation's determination to build on foundational success through personal effort.
