A concerned group of stakeholders and loyal members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State has publicly called on the Honourable Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), His Excellency Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, to intervene decisively in the ongoing crisis threatening the survival and unity of the PDP in the state.
The group, comprising committed party faithfuls, former elected officials, and grassroots leaders, expressed deep concern over the deepening divisions within the Osun PDP structure.
They highlighted allegations of misconduct by certain factional leaders, including claims that the embattled factional chairman has engaged in activities detrimental to the party's interests, such as reportedly aligning with or supporting candidates from rival platforms ahead of key elections.
In a strongly worded statement, the group emphasized that the PDP in Osun risks extinction without urgent high-level intervention to dissolve compromised executive structures, restore discipline, and rebuild a cohesive platform capable of defending the party's legacy and preparing for future electoral battles, including the critical 2027 general elections.
“We are appealing to His Excellency Nyesom Wike, a renowned strategist and influential leader within the PDP, whose track record of bold leadership and commitment to party supremacy is well-documented, to step in and help rescue our chapter from internal sabotage and factionalism,” the group stated. “The current trajectory, if unchecked, will hand over opportunities to opposition parties on a platter and erode the hard-earned gains of PDP in Osun.”
The stakeholders noted that Wike's experience in navigating complex political challenges and his standing as a key figure in national PDP affairs position him uniquely to mediate, provide guidance, and facilitate reconciliation efforts. They urged him to use his influence to ensure transparent, inclusive processes that prioritize the collective interest of the party and its supporters in Osun.
The group reiterated its unwavering loyalty to the PDP's founding ideals and called on all genuine members to rally behind efforts aimed at unity, discipline, and renewal.
They expressed confidence that with Wike's intervention, the Osun PDP can emerge stronger, more united, and better prepared to serve the people of the state.
