Popular Afrobeats superstar, David Adeleke, better known as Davido, has officially declared his strong support for the re-election of his uncle, Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, ahead of the August 2026 gubernatorial election.
In a statement shared on his X handle on Wednesday, Davido announced that he has inaugurated the Imole Youth Mobilisation Campaign Council and obtained his membership card of the Accord Party in Osun State. He expressed confidence that the Governor’s re-election is assured, describing the current administration as one widely loved by the people of Osun State.
“We look forward to a successful re-election for Mr Governor… This current administration is one that the people of OSUN love so much. As it stands now, all things being fair, it will be a walk over, In Jesus name,” Davido stated.
The music star, who has been appointed to lead youth mobilisation efforts for the campaign, emphasised that the Imole Youth Mobilisation Campaign Council is strategically positioned to galvanise massive youth support across the state for Governor Adeleke’s return to office.
Davido’s endorsement and active involvement are expected to significantly boost the re-election bid of the incumbent governor, who defected to the Accord Party and is seeking a second term under the party’s platform. His decision to mobilise youths underscores the pivotal role of young people in the forthcoming election.
Governor Ademola Adeleke has continued to enjoy considerable goodwill across Osun State due to several people-oriented programmes and infrastructural developments witnessed during his administration.
