President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has recorded a massive victory in the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primaries held in Kano and Borno states, polling a combined total of 915,840 votes.

The results, announced on Saturday, demonstrate overwhelming support for the President’s re-election bid ahead of the 2027 general elections. In Kano State, President Tinubu scored 500,852 votes, while his sole challenger, Mr. Osifo Osayamen Stanley, managed only 2,675 votes. In Borno State, the President also secured a landslide victory with 414,988 votes.

The primaries, conducted peacefully across the 44 Local Government Areas in Kano and various wards in Borno, recorded impressive voter turnout, reflecting the strong grassroots acceptance of President Tinubu’s leadership and the APC’s continued dominance in the North.

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State, who participated actively in the exercise, described the outcome as a clear endorsement of President Tinubu’s reforms and visionary leadership. Similarly, Governor Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno State hailed the result as a reflection of the people’s confidence in the President.

Reacting to the development, the APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, congratulated President Tinubu on the resounding victory, stating that the massive votes in these key Northern states signal the party’s readiness to retain power in 2027.

“This impressive performance in Kano and Borno reaffirms President Tinubu’s acceptance across the country. The APC remains the largest and most united political party in Nigeria, fully committed to delivering good governance and consolidating the gains of the Renewed Hope Agenda,” Ganduje said.

President Tinubu thanked party leaders, delegates, and supporters in both states for their unwavering loyalty and assured Nigerians of his administration’s dedication to delivering on key promises, particularly in security, economic recovery, and infrastructure development.

The APC is expected to conclude its presidential primary process in remaining states in the coming days, with the official flag presentation to President Tinubu scheduled for Sunday.
