President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated the Minister of Works, Engineer David Nweze Umahi, on the occasion of his 63rd birthday, describing him as one of the outstanding and hardworking members of his administration.

In a statement issued on Saturday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu praised Umahi’s passion, dedication to duty, and deep sense of patriotism.

“Engineer Umahi has been one of my outstanding, hardworking ministers; passionate about the job and delivering durable roads and bridges that will last for about a century,” the President said.

Tinubu noted that Umahi does not confine himself to the office or rely solely on reports from subordinates. Instead, the minister is constantly on the road, personally monitoring construction projects nationwide to ensure compliance with specifications and approvals.

The President encouraged Umahi to sustain the momentum in road construction, rehabilitation, and project delivery in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritises improving the quality of life for Nigerians and stimulating economic growth through quality infrastructure.

Born on July 25, 1963, Umahi served two consecutive terms as Governor of Ebonyi State from 2015 to 2023 before representing Ebonyi South in the Senate. He was appointed Minister of Works by President Tinubu in August 2023.

President Tinubu extended his best wishes to the minister and his family, praying for continued good health, strength, and success as Umahi continues to serve the nation.
