Osun State Governor and Accord Party governorship candidate, Ademola Adeleke, has declared that his administration and the people of Osun will not bow to intimidation as the state approaches the August 15, 2026 governorship election.
In a series of posts on his official X handle on Thursday, Adeleke reaffirmed the resolve of Osun residents to resist any form of provocation through lawful and democratic means.
“Our people continue to demonstrate remarkable resilience in the face of repeated provocations. Let me state it clearly once again: we will resist, through lawful and democratic means, any attempt to undermine the will of the great people of Osun State. We will not bow to intimidation, regardless of where it comes from,” the Governor stated.
Adeleke made the remarks while reflecting on a recent engagement with party members and supporters in Ayedaade Local Government Area, where he noted the strong show of commitment to the continuity of his administration’s programmes.
He highlighted the visible and measurable achievements of his government across key sectors and stressed that proper management of state resources and improving the lives of the people remain the hallmarks of his leadership.
The Governor urged his supporters to remain peaceful, vigilant and focused as the election draws closer.
“As we move closer to the election, I urge our supporters to remain peaceful, vigilant, and focused. The greatest response to intimidation is unity, discipline and an overwhelming turnout at the polls. Together, by the grace of God, we will protect our mandate and continue building a greater Osun for all,” he said.
Adeleke’s statement comes amid heightened political tension in the state, including recent controversies surrounding the freezing of the Osun State Government’s statutory allocation account by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and other alleged acts of intimidation against his supporters.
