The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) issued a strong condemnation today in response to reports of a proposed U.S.-led trusteeship over the Gaza Strip, allegedly backed by former U.S. President Donald Trump. The plan, as reported by The Washington Post, outlines a decade-long American administration of Gaza, the relocation of its population, and the transformation of the territory into a high-tech and tourism hub.

Hamas political bureau member Dr. Bassem Naim denounced the proposal as “a colonial fantasy,” stating: “Gaza is not for sale. It is an inseparable part of the Palestinian homeland, and no foreign power has the right to redraw its future without the will of its people.”

The reported initiative, dubbed the “Gaza Reconstitution, Economic Acceleration and Transformation Trust” (GREAT Trust), includes controversial provisions such as the issuance of digital tokens to landowners, which could be exchanged for housing in AI-powered smart cities or used to start new lives abroad.

Another Hamas official, speaking anonymously, called the plan “worthless and unjust,” adding: “We reject all schemes that seek to erase our people and entrench the occupier’s presence. These proposals are a modern-day Nakba in disguise.”

The group emphasized that no formal communication regarding the initiative had been made to Palestinian leadership and warned that any attempt to forcibly relocate Gaza’s population would be met with fierce resistance.
