The Nigerian entertainment industry is mourning the loss of one of its rising stars, Raji Samad Adetola, popularly known as Sanku, who tragically passed away following a fatal car accident along the Ogbomoso Road in Oyo State in the early hours of Monday, September 1, 2025.
Sanku, who rose to fame in 2024 for his unique storytelling and comedic style, was traveling with a companion when their vehicle veered off the road and crashed into a ditch. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital in Ogbomoso, the skitmaker was later pronounced dead due to the severity of his injuries.
The news of his passing was confirmed by fellow content creators including Ozain Comedy and Jidex Klothing, who shared emotional tributes on social media. “Rest well, soldier,” Ozain wrote on Instagram, while Jidex posted a tearful video on TikTok, lamenting the fragility of life.
Sanku began his comedy career in 2021 and quickly amassed a loyal fanbase, with over one million followers on TikTok. His originality and relatability made him a beloved figure among fans and fellow entertainers alike.
Since the announcement of his death, tributes have poured in across platforms such as X, Instagram, and TikTok, with fans expressing shock and sorrow over the untimely loss of a talent who brought joy to many.
“We are devastated by the loss of Sanku. His creativity, humor, and heart touched millions. He was more than a skitmaker—he was a voice of his generation,” said a spokesperson from the Nigerian Online Comedy Guild.
