In a bold move to strengthen traditional institutions and deepen grassroots governance, Ondo State Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has presented brand-new Toyota SUVs to traditional rulers across the state.

The Ondo State Government, under the leadership of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has reaffirmed its commitment to the welfare of traditional rulers by presenting brand-new Toyota SUVs to royal fathers across the 18 local government areas of the state. The official handover ceremony took place at the Ondo State Council of Obas Secretariat, Igbatoro Road, Akure.

Governor Aiyedatiwa described the gesture as a “historic milestone in our collective journey toward the elevation of every traditional kinship stool to an enviable height.” He emphasized that the initiative was not merely symbolic, but a strategic investment in peace, cultural preservation, and effective grassroots governance.

“As custodians of our rich cultural heritage and the closest link between government and the people, our administration recognizes your importance and cannot afford to neglect your welfare,” the governor stated.

The Olowo of Owo and Chairman of the Ondo State Council of Obas, Oba Ajibade Ogunoye, speaking on behalf of the monarchs, lauded the governor’s gesture, describing it as “timely and deserving.” He noted that the vehicles would enhance the mobility and operational efficiency of traditional rulers in their various domains, enabling them to better support community development and security efforts.
