Neymar Family Takes Over Pelé’s Brand in Multimillion-Dollar Deal

The family of Brazilian football star Neymar Jr. has officially acquired the rights to the Pelé brand in a landmark multimillion-dollar agreement, marking a new chapter in the legacy of the late football icon. The deal was finalized through NR Sports, the company managed by Neymar’s father, Neymar da Silva Santos Sr., and is valued at approximately $16–18 million.  






The acquisition was announced at the Pelé Museum in Santos, with members of Pelé’s family present, including his daughter Flavia. The agreement grants Neymar’s family control over the commercial use of Pelé’s name, image, and brand, which had been underutilized since his passing in December 2022. The move is seen as both a tribute to Pelé’s enduring influence and a strategic effort to expand his global commercial presence.  







NR Sports stated that the takeover aims to revive and modernize Pelé’s brand, positioning it for international growth in sports, fashion, and lifestyle markets. Neymar Sr. emphasized that the family intends to honor Pelé’s legacy while ensuring that his name continues to inspire future generations of athletes and fans.  







Industry analysts have described the acquisition as one of the most significant brand deals in Brazilian football history. Pelé, widely regarded as the greatest footballer of all time, remains a symbol of excellence and cultural pride in Brazil. By aligning Pelé’s legacy with Neymar’s global influence, the deal is expected to generate new opportunities for partnerships, endorsements, and product lines.  







The announcement has already sparked interest among international investors and sports marketing firms, who view the collaboration as a powerful combination of two of Brazil’s most iconic names in football.  







Neymar Jr., currently one of the most recognizable athletes worldwide, expressed his family’s commitment to safeguarding Pelé’s legacy. “This is not just a business move,” he said. “It is about ensuring that Pelé’s name continues to shine as the eternal King of football.”
