The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) proudly announces its recognition as one of the top five best-performing Federal Government agencies for 2025. The Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) awarded this honor under the Transparency and Efficiency Category.
The NCC stands alongside the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, which claimed the overall best-performing agency title. Additionally, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency secured second place, while the Nigeria Customs Service and Nigerian Ports Authority also earned spots in the top five. This accolade highlights NCC's dedication to excellence in public service.
Organizers revealed the winners during the PEBEC Awards and Gala Night on Tuesday at the State House Banquet Hall in Abuja. The event celebrated agencies that demonstrate outstanding transparency, accountability, and operational efficiency. NCC received praise for its commitment to openness in delivering public services.
Dr. Aminu Maida, Executive Vice Chairman and CEO of NCC, accepted the award on behalf of the commission. He expressed gratitude and reaffirmed NCC's focus on sustaining these principles. "We take pride in ranking among the top five agencies," Dr. Maida stated. "This recognition validates our reforms, strengthened systems, and decisions that drive positive outcomes."
Furthermore, Dr. Maida emphasized how transparency and accountability form the core of NCC's regulatory approach. These values enhance industry performance and create a supportive environment for telecommunications businesses to flourish. The commission continues to prioritize regulatory excellence for the benefit of all stakeholders.
This achievement motivates NCC to build on its successes. As a result, the commission pledges ongoing improvements in service delivery and collaboration with partners.
