Governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) today declared their unwavering backing for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. They praised his bold steps to stabilize the economy, enhance security, and foster national growth. The leaders gathered under the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) and committed to aligning state policies with federal reforms for maximum citizen benefits.

The two-day strategic meeting took place in Lagos from Friday to Saturday. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu hosted the event, while Imo State Governor and PGF Chairman, Senator Hope Uzodimma, led the discussions. Participants focused on aligning priorities with national goals and recommitting to people-centered governance. Every reform, they emphasized, must improve lives across all demographics.

In a communiqué issued at the meeting's close, the governors commended President Tinubu’s ongoing interventions. These include advancements in food security, power sector improvements, transportation and infrastructure upgrades, social investments, and support for productive enterprises. They acknowledged temporary challenges from macroeconomic reforms, such as rising living costs, but highlighted Nigerians’ resilience and patience.

To address these issues directly, the PGF resolved to intensify state-level actions. Governors will boost food production and distribution efforts. They also plan to expand support for small and medium-scale enterprises, create youth employment opportunities, strengthen social protections for the vulnerable, and provide targeted relief for workers and low-income households.

On security, the forum reviewed the national situation and applauded improved coordination among agencies. They praised the courage of security personnel and community volunteers. Moving forward, APC states will reinforce local security frameworks. This includes community-based initiatives, better intelligence gathering, conflict-prevention strategies, and aid for victims of violence and disasters.

The governors stressed the need for social cohesion, inter-faith harmony, and ethnic understanding. They urged leaders to promote unity and isolate hate speech or criminality.

Reiterating loyalty to the APC, the PGF praised the party’s leadership for advancing internal democracy. They pledged to stabilize the party and deliver development-focused governance in all APC-controlled states.

Senator Uzodimma, reading the communiqué, stated, “We express full confidence in Nigeria’s future as a united, peaceful, and prosperous nation. Our governors stand ready to collaborate with federal institutions and local governments to ensure no group is left behind.”

The PGF calls on all Nigerians to pursue daily activities without fear, trusting in ongoing reforms for a brighter tomorrow.
