Human rights activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore today outlined a bold vision for Nigeria's security. In a recent statement, Sowore declared that if he were president, his defense minister would be a drone. This highlights his focus on modern technology to fight insecurity.

Sowore explained his idea during a public address. He aims to replace traditional defense roles with advanced tools like unmanned aerial vehicles. "If I’m president of Nigeria, I’m not buying any jet anymore. I’m buying unmanned aerial vehicles. I want to invest in drones," Sowore said. He believes this shift will make Nigeria's defense more effective and efficient.

The proposal comes amid ongoing challenges with banditry, terrorism, and other threats in Nigeria. Sowore criticized current methods and called for innovation. He added, "That’s why I said somewhere, if I’m president of Nigeria, I won’t have a minister of defence. My minister of defence would be a drone."

Sowore urged Nigerians to support tech driven solutions. He plans to prioritize drones over expensive jets and human-led ministries. This approach could save costs and improve response times to security issues.

Supporters praise Sowore's forward-thinking ideas. They see it as a way to modernize Nigeria's military. Critics, however, question the feasibility without human oversight. Sowore remains committed to his vision. He invites dialogue on how technology can secure Nigeria's future.
