Members of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and workers from the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) staged a protest at the National Industrial Court in Abuja, demanding the immediate removal of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike amid escalating labour disputes.

The demonstration followed unresolved issues, including unpaid promotion arrears, implementation of the minimum wage, and other welfare concerns. Protesters picketed the court premises, displaying placards with messages such as “Wike must go!!”, “Abuja no be Rivers”, “Pay promotion arrears”, and “Enough is Enough.”

NLC officials expressed solidarity with the FCTA workers, who have been on an indefinite strike. The union directed members to mobilize in support, highlighting the failure of dialogue with the FCTA leadership.16f0fd A union representative stated, "The working class is exhausted," emphasizing the need for swift resolution.

This action comes as Minister Wike filed a lawsuit against the unions, seeking an order to restrain them from picketing, strikes, or disruptions. Despite the legal move, protesters vowed to continue until their demands are met.
