Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, today swore in Dr. Dagogo S.A. Wokoma as the new Secretary to the State Government (SSG) and Barrister Sunny Ewule as the Chief of Staff, Government House, at a brief ceremony held at Government House, Port Harcourt.

The appointments, which take immediate effect, reflect the Governor's ongoing efforts to strengthen his administration's capacity to deliver good governance, peace, and prosperity for the people of Rivers State.

Addressing the new appointees directly after the swearing-in, Governor Fubara emphasized the critical importance of discipline, unwavering loyalty, and a steadfast focus on service to the state. He described their roles as positions of high trust and responsibility, underscoring that the welfare and well-being of Rivers people must remain paramount at all times.

The Governor issued a clear directive against any form of unauthorized or clandestine engagements that could undermine the administration.

He specifically warned against involvement in nocturnal or secret meetings, backdoor political activities, or any conduct capable of embarrassing the government or bringing the office into disrepute.

"If you involve yourself in nocturnal meetings or similar activities, I will sack you. I am very serious," Governor Fubara stated firmly. "What matters to me is the peace, progress, and prosperity of this state. I will not compromise on that."

Speaking particularly to the Chief of Staff, the Governor highlighted the personal and confidential nature of the position, noting that it serves directly under him as a key aide requiring absolute trust and discipline.

He reiterated that no independent political engagements or private strategy sessions should occur without his knowledge and consent.

Governor Fubara expressed confidence in the integrity and capability of Dr. Wokoma and Barrister Ewule to uphold the highest standards of public service. He charged them to work diligently toward advancing the administration's agenda of inclusive development, security, and economic growth for all citizens of Rivers State.

The Governor called on all political appointees and members of his administration to emulate this commitment to transparency, loyalty, and focused governance, assuring that his leadership will continue to prioritize the collective interest of the state above any personal or extraneous considerations.
