In a heartfelt display of compassion and community solidarity amid ongoing economic challenges, former Kaduna State lawmaker Hon. Shehu Bawa, popularly known as Shehu ABG, has distributed over 10,000 bags of rice along with assorted grains to vulnerable residents across the state.

The distribution, which commenced recently, targets families and individuals facing hardship during the sacred periods of Ramadan for Muslims and Lent for Christians.

The initiative aims to alleviate the burden of rising food costs and ensure that households can observe their religious obligations with greater ease and dignity.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Shehu Bawa emphasized the importance of empathy and collective responsibility in leadership. "In these trying times, it is our duty as citizens and leaders past and present to stand with our people," he said. "This gesture is not just about providing food; it is about sharing hope, fostering unity across faiths, and reminding everyone that no one should go hungry while we have the means to help."

The palliatives, consisting primarily of high-quality rice bags supplemented by other essential grains, were distributed to beneficiaries in various local government areas throughout Kaduna State.

The exercise saw active participation from members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and community leaders, underscoring a bipartisan spirit of service to the people.

Beneficiaries expressed profound gratitude for the timely intervention. Many described the support as a significant relief that would enable them to focus on spiritual reflection rather than daily survival concerns.

Hon. Shehu Bawa, a respected former legislator known for his advocacy on behalf of constituents, used the occasion to call for continued support for progressive leadership and unity in Kaduna State and beyond.

He reiterated his commitment to uplifting the less privileged and contributing to the overall welfare of the community.

This initiative aligns with similar compassionate efforts by leaders across Nigeria during the current fasting seasons, highlighting a shared commitment to social responsibility and humanitarian support.
