Remo Stars Football Club remains resolute in its fight to stay in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), with Assistant Coach Sulaiman Folarin expressing strong confidence that the team will avoid relegation in the 2025/2026 season.
Speaking after the club's recent 1-1 draw with Abia Warriors, Coach Folarin emphasized the squad's determination, resilience, and belief in their ability to turn the campaign around.
Currently positioned in the lower reaches of the NPFL table with 26 points from 25 matches, Remo Stars are battling to climb out of the relegation zone, but the assistant coach insists the Sky Blues have what it takes to secure their top-flight status.
"We won't be relegated," Folarin stated firmly. "The players and technical team are fully committed, and we have the quality and fighting spirit to pick up the necessary points in the remaining fixtures.
We've shown character in recent games, and with the support of our fans, we will stay in the NPFL."
Remo Stars, the 2024/2025 NPFL champions, have faced a challenging season marked by inconsistent results following their historic title win last term.
Despite the difficulties, the club draws on its proud history of resilience having overcome previous challenges including past promotions and survival battles to fuel their current push.
Coach Folarin highlighted the team's unity and ongoing efforts to improve performance: "We are working hard every day in training, analyzing our games, and focusing on the next match. The NPFL is competitive, but we trust in our process and our players. Relegation is not an option for Remo Stars."
The club calls on its passionate supporters, known for their unwavering backing, to continue rallying behind the team as the season enters its crucial phase. Remo Stars are set to face upcoming opponents with renewed vigor, aiming to string together results that will ensure safety.
