The United States and the State of Israel have initiated coordinated military operations against the Islamic Republic of Iran this morning in a decisive preemptive action to neutralize existential threats posed by the Iranian regime.

The operation, described by U.S. President Donald J. Trump as “major combat operations,” targets Iran's ballistic missile infrastructure, military command centers, and facilities associated with its nuclear and weapons programs.

These strikes follow months of close joint planning between U.S. and Israeli forces and come after repeated warnings to Tehran to abandon its pursuit of nuclear weapons and cease threats against Israel, the United States, and regional allies.

President Trump stated in a video address: “A short time ago, the United States military began major combat operations in Iran. This massive and ongoing campaign will devastate the terrorist regime’s military capabilities, eliminate its path to nuclear weapons, and protect American lives and interests. We will not allow this radical dictatorship to threaten the world any longer.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu emphasized the necessity of the action: “The State of Israel, in close coordination with our American partners, has launched a preemptive strike to remove the existential threat posed by the terrorist regime in Iran. We will continue this operation as long as needed to ensure the security of Israel and the region.”

Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz confirmed that the strikes were launched “to remove threats to the State of Israel,” with initial targets including military infrastructure, surface-to-surface missile sites, and regime command facilities in multiple locations across Iran, including reports of impacts in Tehran and western provinces.

The operation follows failed diplomatic efforts to secure a new agreement curbing Iran’s nuclear ambitions and comes amid escalating tensions, including Iran’s continued support for proxy attacks and its refusal to dismantle key elements of its prohibited programs.

U.S. and Israeli officials have indicated that the campaign is expected to continue over several days, with forces prepared to respond to any retaliation. Air raid sirens have sounded in Israel as defensive systems intercepted incoming missiles from Iran.

Both nations call on the international community to recognize the necessity of this action in preventing a nuclear-armed Iran and urge the Iranian people to seize this moment for a future free from oppression.

The United States and Israel remain committed to defending their citizens and promoting stability in the Middle East.
