The United States Air University at Maxwell Air Force Base has inducted Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, Chief of the Air Staff (CAS) of the Nigerian Air Force, into the prestigious 2026 International Honor Roll.

This notable recognition celebrates outstanding international military leaders for their exceptional contributions to air power, professional excellence, and global security cooperation. The induction ceremony brought together distinguished international military figures and senior U.S. Air Force officials.

Air Marshal Aneke, who assumed office as the 23rd Chief of the Air Staff in October 2025, has demonstrated visionary leadership in enhancing the Nigerian Air Force’s operational capabilities, personnel development, and commitment to national security. His induction highlights the strong bilateral ties between the Nigerian and United States armed forces, particularly in areas of training, capacity building, and counter-terrorism efforts.

Speaking on the honour, Air Marshal Aneke expressed deep appreciation to the U.S. Air University and the Department of the Air Force for the recognition. He dedicated the award to the officers, airmen, and airwomen of the Nigerian Air Force, whose dedication and sacrifices continue to drive the service’s successes in defending Nigeria’s territorial integrity and supporting regional stability.

“This induction is not only a personal honour but a testament to the growing partnership between the Nigerian Air Force and the United States Air Force,” said Air Marshal Aneke. “It reinforces our shared commitment to professionalism, innovation in air operations, and collaborative efforts in addressing contemporary security challenges.”

The International Honor Roll is a selective programme that acknowledges senior military officers from allied and partner nations who have made significant impacts in their respective services and fostered international military cooperation.

The Nigerian Air Force remains committed to excellence, human capital development, and leveraging strategic partnerships to maintain a highly professional and combat-ready force capable of meeting Nigeria’s defence needs in a dynamic security environment.
