Supporters of former Anambra State Governor and 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, popularly known as the Obidients, have released a vibrant new Hausa Afro song titled ‘Lokaci’ (meaning “Time” in Hausa) as part of early mobilization efforts ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The track, performed by talented Katsina State-born artist Mr. DapBoy and produced by DJ Funky G (80ties), also known as Dr. Yunusa Tanko, blends infectious Afro rhythms with powerful Hausa lyrics to deliver a message of hope, urgency, and national renewal. ‘Lokaci’ calls on Nigerians, particularly in the North, to recognize that the time has come for purposeful leadership, good governance, and a new direction for the country.

In a statement accompanying the release, Obidient coordinators described the song as more than just music it is a cultural bridge aimed at amplifying Peter Obi’s vision of a productive, secure, and prosperous Nigeria across all regions. “Lokaci ya yi the time is now,” they emphasized, highlighting the track’s role in energizing grassroots support and fostering unity beyond ethnic and linguistic lines.

The song has already begun trending among Hausa-speaking communities and on social media platforms, with remixes and dance challenges gaining traction. It builds on previous musical endorsements from Northern artists and aligns with ongoing Obidient efforts to expand Peter Obi’s appeal nationwide, including speculated alliances and movements within parties like the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Peter Obi, widely respected for his emphasis on competence, frugality, security, and economic revitalization, has continued to draw massive grassroots enthusiasm since the 2023 elections. Supporters view ‘Lokaci’ as a timely anthem signaling that 2027 represents a critical opportunity for the change many Nigerians have been yearning for.

The full track is available on platforms such as Audiomack, with links circulating widely among supporters.

Quote from Obidient Movement Spokesperson: “Through ‘Lokaci,’ we are speaking directly to the hearts and minds of our brothers and sisters in the North and across Nigeria.

Peter Obi represents the time for accountable leadership, youth empowerment, and national rebirth. The Obidient family is more united and determined than ever to build a New Nigeria that works for all.”
