President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has boldly challenged opposition figures, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Labour Party leader Peter Obi, and former Kaduna State Governor Nasir el-Rufai, declaring that no political alliance or “conspiracy” will intimidate him or derail his administration’s agenda as Nigeria approaches the 2027 general elections.
Speaking yesterday during a meeting with members of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors at the State House in Abuja, President Tinubu dismissed attempts by opposition parties particularly the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to form a united front against him.
“They want to scare me off; it is a lie. I’ve been through this path before, and if I have to come back over and over and over again, I’ll do the same thing,” the President stated emphatically.
He reflected on the intense battles he faced during the APC primaries and the 2023 general election, underscoring his resilience and experience in navigating tough political terrain. In a veiled reference to Atiku Abubakar’s past role as Chairman of the National Council on Privatisation, President Tinubu highlighted his own track record of service and determination.
“I am Jagaban,” he added, reaffirming his confidence that no amount of opposition coordination can deter his commitment to delivering on the Renewed Hope Agenda for Nigerians.
The President’s remarks come amid reports of ongoing discussions among opposition leaders to build a formidable coalition aimed at challenging the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027. Despite these developments, Tinubu expressed unwavering resolve to continue implementing economic reforms and repositioning Nigeria for sustainable growth and development.
He urged his supporters and well-meaning Nigerians to remain focused on the bigger picture of national progress rather than being distracted by political noise.
