The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), through the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI, has executed precision airstrikes in the Yuwe axis of the Sambisa Forest, neutralizing several terrorists and destroying their fortified structures and logistics facilities.
The strikes, conducted on April 19, 2026, followed credible intelligence corroborated by Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) assets, which confirmed the presence of active terrorist elements concealed within bunkers and fortified positions.
NAF air assets engaged the validated targets with precision munitions, resulting in the destruction of multiple structures, the elimination of several fighters, and the neutralization of key logistics hubs. Subsequent Battle Damage Assessment confirmed the success of the operation.
Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information, Headquarters Nigerian Air Force, stated that the sustained tempo of air operations continues to degrade terrorist networks in the North-East, leaving insurgents increasingly exposed and disrupted.
“The NAF remains committed to sustaining intense pressure on terrorist elements until they are completely neutralized,” he added. “These operations deny terrorists any safe haven and create the enabling environment for ground forces to dominate the battlespace.”
The Nigerian Air Force reaffirms its resolve to support the Joint Task Force and other security agencies in restoring peace and security across the region.
