The Anambra State Government, through the Anambra State Signage and Advertisement Agency (ANSAA), has announced new permit fees for outdoor political campaigns and advertisements ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The structured fees are designed to regulate outdoor campaign activities, ensure environmental cleanliness, protect public infrastructure, and generate revenue for the maintenance of the state’s visual landscape.

According to the guidelines released by ANSAA: Presidential candidates: ₦50 million. Senatorial candidates: ₦20 million. House of Representatives candidates: ₦5 million. Anambra State House of Assembly candidates: ₦1.5 million. Local Government Chairmanship candidates: ₦2.5 million. Councillorship candidates: ₦100,000.

The Assistant General Manager of ANSAA, Mr. Chika Ngobili, who announced the fees during a press briefing in Awka, stated that the permit covers the deployment of campaign materials such as posters, billboards, banners, vehicle branding, and outdoor rallies across the state.

“This framework builds on previous successful regulations and aims to promote orderly, responsible campaigning while reducing indiscriminate defacing of public spaces,” he said.

The Anambra State Government emphasized that all political parties and candidates must comply with the approved guidelines and obtain necessary permits before commencing any outdoor campaign activities. The move is expected to bring sanity to political advertising in the state.

Stakeholders are advised to visit the ANSAA office in Awka for detailed guidelines, approval processes, and payment procedures.
