The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Odu Ward 2 of Dekina Local Government Area, Kogi State, has suspended Senator Jibrin Isah, popularly known as Echocho, who represents Kogi East Senatorial District.
The suspension was announced following an emergency meeting of the Ward Executive Committee held on May 26, 2026. Party leaders cited prolonged anti-party activities as the primary reason for the decision.
According to the ward executives, Senator Isah has been accused of several infractions, including: Maintaining close ties with opposition figures. Engaging in actions detrimental to the party's unity and electoral prospects in Kogi East. Alleged failure to adequately support the party during previous elections, particularly at the polling unit level
A letter dated May 26, 2026, addressed to the APC State Chairman in Lokoja, formally communicated the suspension. The ward leadership stated that the party could no longer tolerate actions considered harmful to its cohesion and strength in the senatorial district.
The Chairman of APC Odu Ward 2, said:
"The decision to suspend Senator Jibrin Isah was not taken lightly. As a party, we remain committed to discipline, loyalty, and collective progress. We have given the Senator ample time to align with the party's objectives, but recent developments, especially following internal party processes, have left us with no choice but to take this necessary step to safeguard the future of APC in Kogi East."
The suspension is at the ward level and is expected to be reviewed by higher organs of the party, including the Local Government and State Executive Committees.
The APC reaffirms its commitment to internal democracy, party discipline, and the delivery of good governance to the people of Kogi State. The party urges all members to remain united and focused on its progressive ideals ahead of future elections.
