The Honourable Minister of Works, Senator (Engr.) David Umahi, CON, FNSE, FNATE, has declared that the people of Nigeria’s South-East region will remain steadfastly supportive of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, owing to the unprecedented scale of federal infrastructure projects being delivered across the zone.

Speaking during an inspection tour of key federal government projects in Ebonyi State as part of the Renewed Hope National Media Tour, Senator Umahi emphasized that the massive investments in roads, bridges, flyovers, and superhighways have cemented the region’s loyalty to the Tinubu administration.

“The South-East will always be obedient to President Tinubu because of the quality and quantum of projects he is executing in the region,” the Minister stated at Onueke in Ezza-South Local Government Area. He highlighted ongoing transformative initiatives, including sections of the 119-kilometer Calabar-Ebonyi-Benue-Nasarawa-Abuja Superhighway (valued at approximately N440 billion), the Onueke flyover, and other legacy corridors that are opening up economic opportunities and improving connectivity.

Senator Umahi noted that the Tinubu administration inherited virtually no active major federal projects in the South-East but has since revived and initiated numerous high-impact developments. These include concrete roads designed to last up to 100 years, dual carriageways, and strategic links that integrate the South-East with other parts of the country, boosting trade, local industries, and overall development.

He further pointed out that the region is benefiting immensely from the Renewed Hope Agenda, with governors across the South-East collaborating with the federal government irrespective of party lines. The Minister urged continued unity and political reciprocity to sustain this momentum of progress.

“President Tinubu has demonstrated unparalleled commitment to the South-East. These projects are not just infrastructure; they are legacy investments that will transform lives for generations,” Umahi added.

The five-day Renewed Hope National Media Tour is showcasing federal projects across Ebonyi, Enugu, Anambra, Abia, and Imo States, highlighting the administration’s focus on inclusive national development.
