President Donald J. Trump delivered a forceful message today, declaring that the United States is far from done confronting Iran and has no plans to withdraw amid ongoing efforts to neutralize the regime’s nuclear ambitions and military capabilities.
Speaking during a White House meeting with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun, President Trump highlighted the major damage already inflicted on Iran while stressing that America’s mission remains unfinished.
“If we left right now, it would take Iran 20, 25 years to rebuild. Okay? And we’re not finished at all,” President Trump said. “But we’re not leaving right now. We’ve had a big impact on Iran.
The President pointed to key prior actions — including scrapping the Obama-era nuclear deal and precision strikes on Iranian facilities — as critical steps that helped safeguard Israel and the region. He signaled potential new targeted strikes, including on underground nuclear sites such as the one at Pickaxe Mountain near Natanz.
“We will absolutely attack the new site they are talking about,” Trump added. “Any site where they’re even thinking about nuclear weapons, we’ll hit it very, very powerfully.”
While noting Iran’s interest in talks, President Trump made clear that the U.S. will only engage under conditions that fully eliminate the nuclear threat and protect American interests. He emphasized that U.S. forces have dealt devastating blows to Iran’s capabilities, but sustained pressure is still required.
The administration continues to monitor the situation closely to prevent any reconstitution of Iran’s nuclear program or further regional destabilization.
