President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Thursday received Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja for a closed-door meeting.
Governor Adeleke arrived at the State House at about 5:25 pm, dressed in navy blue traditional attire and carrying a walking stick. He alighted from a black Toyota Land Cruiser SUV alongside National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu.
The visit marks Adeleke’s first meeting with the President since his re-election in the Osun State governorship election held last Saturday, August 15, 2026.
The engagement follows a personal congratulatory telephone call placed by President Tinubu to the governor after the poll. In that call, the President described the election outcome as “a fitting assurance that democracy will continue to flourish in our country” and urged Adeleke to unite all residents of Osun State regardless of their political choices.
Shortly after the governor’s arrival, four other Osun State officials were also spotted at the Villa. They include the Director-General of the Adeleke Campaign Council, Senator Lere Oyewumi; council member Sunday Bisi; Chief of Staff to the Governor, Akinleye Kazeem; and House of Representatives member Bamidele Salam, who represents the Ede North/Ede South/Egbedore/Ejigbo Federal Constituency.
Details of the closed-door discussions between the President and the governor were not immediately available.
