The Kogi State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has intensified grassroots mobilisation across Kogi Central Senatorial District in support of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s bid to return to the Senate in the 2027 general elections.
Party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters have described the mobilisation as a decisive effort to consolidate the gains of effective representation and secure a decisive victory for the PDP candidate.
The drive emphasises house-to-house and polling-unit-level engagement, voter registration and Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) collection, and sustained contact with constituents in all five local government areas of the district.
Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who currently represents Kogi Central, emerged as the PDP’s sole candidate following primaries and the formal presentation of her Certificate of Return by the party’s national leadership.
The Kogi PDP State Working Committee had earlier ratified an automatic ticket for her, citing her legislative performance, empowerment programmes, infrastructure interventions, and consistent support for party structures.
At recent campaign organisation inaugurations and stakeholders’ meetings, the senator charged mobilisers to prioritise direct engagement with voters. “This campaign must be house-to-house and polling-unit-by-polling-unit.
We must reach our people directly, listen to them, engage them and explain clearly why the PDP remains the best platform for the development and progress of our people,” she stated.
Kogi PDP Chairman Hon. Muhammed Sanni Gambo and other party leaders have repeatedly endorsed her candidacy, describing her record as a model of purposeful representation that prioritises women and youth empowerment, education, healthcare access, rural development, and inclusive governance.
The party has also welcomed defectors from other parties who have pledged support for her re-election and for strengthening PDP structures at the grassroots.
Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan has reaffirmed her commitment to expanding economic opportunities, improving education and healthcare delivery, and ensuring every community in Kogi Central feels the impact of responsive governance in a second term.
She has called for continued unity within the party ranks and active participation by all eligible voters in the ongoing electoral processes.
