In a significant development at the National Assembly today, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, officially administered the oath of office to three newly elected members of the House.
The swearing-in ceremony, held during plenary at the Green Chamber, followed the conclusion of recent by-elections conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to fill vacant seats. The new lawmakers were warmly received by their colleagues amid applause and expressions of goodwill.
“This House continues to uphold the democratic mandate of the people,” Speaker Abbas stated. “We welcome our new members and urge them to serve with integrity, diligence, and commitment to national development.”
