President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to receive the final report from the House of Representatives ad hoc committee investigating the recurring killings in Plateau State, marking a critical step toward addressing the long-standing crisis in the region.

The committee, chaired by Hon. Wale Ahmed (APC-Lagos), has concluded extensive consultations with key stakeholders, including traditional rulers, civil society organizations, security agencies, and former Plateau State Governor Joshua Dariye. The report aims to uncover the root causes of the violence and propose actionable solutions to restore peace and stability.

Speaking during a visit to the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, Hon. Ahmed emphasized the urgency of the matter. “At the end of our consultations, a comprehensive report will be submitted to the House and to Mr. President, who as Commander-in-Chief, has shown great interest in achieving lasting peace in Plateau State,” he stated.

The initiative follows years of bloodshed and destruction in Plateau, where communities have suffered repeated attacks. President Tinubu’s administration has pledged to prioritize security and justice, with the report expected to guide federal interventions and policy reforms.

In a related development, the Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN) has called on President Tinubu to act swiftly on the findings and restore public confidence in Nigeria’s security architecture. The group highlighted the plight of Christian communities in the Middle Belt and North-East regions, urging decisive leadership and accountability.
