The Anti-Narcotics Wing of the Central Crime Branch (CCB) today arrested a 29-year-old Nigerian woman, Olajide Esther Iyanuoluwa, in a major operation against drug trafficking. Authorities seized 121 grams of cocaine, estimated to be worth Rs 65 lakh on the street.
Olajide entered India in 2024 on a student visa but failed to enroll in any educational program. Instead she engaged in narcotics distribution. Police acted on intelligence and intercepted her at a bus stand after she arrived from Mumbai. The drugs were hidden inside bread loaves, with holes cut into the bread to conceal the cocaine packets among other food items in her backpack.
During interrogation, Olajide admitted to sourcing the cocaine from an associate in Mumbai and intending to supply it to another Nigerian contact in Bengaluru. She has been involved in drug peddling for the past six months. The arrest underscores the CCB's commitment to dismantling international drug networks operating within the city.
A case has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Investigations continue to identify and apprehend her accomplices. The Bengaluru Police urge citizens to report suspicious activities to aid in curbing the drug menace.
