It is with deep sadness that the Fondation Brigitte Bardot announces the death of Brigitte Bardot, the beloved French actress, singer, and tireless animal rights activist. She passed away peacefully today at her home in Toulon, France, at the age of 91.

Born on September 28, 1934, in Paris, Brigitte Bardot grew up in a strict family and started her career as a model and dancer. She became a star in the 1950s with movies like And God Created Woman, where she played fun and free-spirited roles. Over her acting years from 1952 to 1973, she appeared in more than 40 films and became known around the world as a symbol of beauty and style.

Brigitte also loved music and recorded over 60 songs, working with famous artists like Serge Gainsbourg. Hits like "Bonnie and Clyde" showed her talent as a singer.

In 1973, she left acting to focus on helping animals. She started the Fondation Brigitte Bardot in 1986 to fight for animal rights. She spoke out against things like fur coats, bullfighting, and cruel treatment of animals. Her work helped many animals and inspired people everywhere.

"Brigitte was a true fighter for those without a voice," said a spokesperson for the Foundation. "Her love for animals changed the world, and we will keep her mission alive."

Brigitte Bardot leaves behind a legacy of films, songs, and kindness to animals. She was married four times and had one son, Nicolas Jacques Charrier. The Foundation asks for privacy for her family during this hard time. Details about memorial services will be shared later.
