A Paris labour court has ruled in favor of Kylian Mbappé, ordering Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) to pay the star forward approximately €60 million in unpaid wages and bonuses. The decision addresses a dispute stemming from Mbappé's departure from the club in June 2025, when he joined Real Madrid on a free transfer.

The court determined that PSG failed to fulfill contractual obligations, including three months of salary, an ethics bonus, and a signing bonus. PSG argued that Mbappé had voluntarily waived these payments as part of an agreement related to his exit, but the judges rejected this claim, finding insufficient evidence to support the waiver. Additionally the court dismissed PSG's counterclaim seeking €440 million from Mbappé for alleged breach of contract.

"We are pleased with the court's decision, which upholds the principles of fair compensation in professional sports," stated Mbappé's legal representative in a post-ruling statement. "This ruling ensures that players receive what they are rightfully owed under their contracts." PSG has indicated plans to appeal the verdict, maintaining that the matter involves a mutual understanding reached with the player.

This case highlights ongoing tensions in high-profile football transfers and sets a potential precedent for contract disputes in the sport. Mbappé, a World Cup winner and one of football's top talents, continues to excel at Real Madrid, where he has already made significant contributions this season.
