The Police Service Commission (PSC) has warned Nigerians to completely disregard fake recruitment notices and fraudulent online portals currently circulating on social media and unverified websites.
In a statement issued on Monday by the Head of Protocol and Public Affairs, Mr Torty Njoku Kalu, the Commission described the publications as false, misleading, and the deliberate handiwork of fraudsters seeking to defraud unsuspecting citizens.
“The Police Service Commission wishes to inform the general public that no recruitment exercise into the Nigeria Police Force is currently ongoing,” the statement declared. “No official portal has been opened, and no application process has commenced.”
The Commission urged all citizens to ignore such notices and warned that anyone who patronises fraudulent portals does so at their own risk. It further directed the public to immediately report any suspicious recruitment website or message to the nearest police station or to the PSC directly.
“Nigerians should remain vigilant and only act on information published through our verified channels,” the statement added. The Police Service Commission reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and fairness in all future recruitment exercises.
