Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, today addressed recent speculations regarding her political affiliations. In a clear statement, she confirmed that she has been approached multiple times to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC), including overtures from high-level figures, but emphatically stated she will not leave the People's Democratic Party (PDP).

"I remain committed to the PDP and the values it stands for," Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan said. "While I appreciate the interest shown in my work, my focus is on serving the people of Kogi Central and advancing Nigeria's progress through constructive opposition." She highlighted her dedication to issues such as economic empowerment, women's rights, and infrastructure development in her constituency.

The senator's remarks come amid ongoing political realignments in Nigeria, where defections between parties have become common ahead of future elections. However, Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan emphasized that her decision is rooted in principle rather than opportunism. "I have been contacted by people from the presidency to join the APC," she noted, but reaffirmed her stance against defection.

As a prominent voice in Nigerian politics, Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan has gained recognition for her advocacy on social justice and her historic election as the first female senator from Kogi State. Her office urges the media and public to focus on substantive issues affecting Nigerians rather than unfounded rumors.
