The Federal Government of Nigeria, under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has announced the selection of 20 top Nigerian content creators to champion public awareness and understanding of the country’s newly introduced tax reform laws.
The initiative, coordinated by the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, reflects the administration’s commitment to ensuring that citizens are well-informed about ongoing fiscal changes and their implications for businesses, households, and the wider economy.
The 20 creators were chosen from a pool of 8,591 public nominations, covering more than 200 digital creators across platforms such as YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and X (Twitter). The shortlisted creators will participate in a specialized training programme designed to equip them with the knowledge and tools to effectively communicate Nigeria’s tax reforms in accessible, relatable formats.
By leveraging the reach and influence of digital creators, the government aims to simplify complex fiscal policies and foster greater public trust and compliance with tax laws. This initiative underscores the growing role of digital media in shaping public discourse, particularly in areas of governance, economic reform, and civic education.
In its official statement, the Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms Committee emphasized that the collaboration with content creators is a strategic move to bridge the gap between policy and public understanding. The committee noted that Nigerians are increasingly turning to digital platforms for information, making creators vital partners in driving awareness and compliance.
“The Top 20 creators represent a diverse mix of voices and platforms. Their participation will ensure that tax reforms are communicated in ways that resonate with everyday Nigerians,” the committee stated.
The selected creators will begin training immediately, with rollout campaigns expected to launch in early 2026. Citizens can expect to see educational content, explainer videos, infographics, and interactive sessions across major social media platforms.
