The administration of President Bola Tinubu announces a strategic partnership with DCI Group, a Washington-based lobbying firm. This collaboration aims to communicate Nigeria's robust efforts in combating terrorism and protecting religious freedoms to key US stakeholders.

The contract, valued at $9 million over 12 months, includes an initial payment of $4.5 million for the first six months. A second installment of $4.5 million followed by July 2026. Aster Legal Associates, based in Kaduna, facilitated the agreement on behalf of National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu.

This initiative responds to recent US airstrikes targeting terrorist threats in Nigeria. President Donald Trump has expressed concerns about ongoing security challenges and the protection of Christian communities. The Nigerian government commits to joint operations that safeguard American interests while preserving national sovereignty.

"Nigeria remains a steadfast partner in the global fight against terrorism," states National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu. "This engagement with DCI Group ensures our actions receive clear recognition in Washington. We protect all citizens, including Christians, and work tirelessly to degrade threats like ISIS.”

DCI Group, known for its Republican connections, including ties to strategist Roger Stone, will advocate for Nigeria's security measures among US lawmakers and officials. This move underscores Nigeria's proactive diplomacy amid warnings of potential further US actions.

The government addresses domestic criticisms by emphasizing the contract's value in preventing escalation and fostering economic stability. Lawmakers highlight the importance of US cooperation to tackle shared threats.

As Nigeria prepares for the 2027 elections, this partnership aims to bolster international relations and deter unilateral measures that could impact national security.
