Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, known professionally as Davido, today addresses recent public claims regarding an alleged paternity issue involving a 12-year-old girl, Mitchelle Anuoluwapo Adeleke.
In a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter), Davido firmly denies any paternal connection and reveals that five separate DNA tests have already confirmed he is not the father.
The controversy resurfaced when the young girl, Anu, shared an emotional Instagram post on January 15, 2026. She detailed experiences of bullying at school since age six due to rumors about her parentage. Anu respectfully requested a DNA test from Davido to establish her identity as she transitions into her teenage years.
Davido responded directly, emphasizing that the matter has been thoroughly investigated. "After 5 DNA test … she dey crase .. her and her mom better leave me the f#ck alone and go find her papa," he stated in one post.
He clarified that he has never met Anu's mother except during the DNA testing processes and described her as an "obsessed fan" spreading false information.
The singer highlighted the involvement of his father, billionaire philanthropist Dr. Adedeji Adeleke, who insisted on conducting multiple tests to ensure absolute certainty. These tests occurred at five reputable hospitals, with some locations selected by Anu's family to maintain transparency. All results returned negative, ruling out any biological relation.
Davido expressed sympathy for the young girl but directed strong criticism toward her mother, suggesting potential legal action. "The mom needs to go to jail … I don’t blame the poor girl," he added in his statements.
This issue first emerged years ago, with Anu's mother alleging a fraudulent 2014 DNA test supervised by Davido's family. Despite these claims, Davido maintains the tests were conducted fairly and accurately.
Davido's team urges respect for all parties involved, particularly the child, and calls for an end to the speculation. The artist remains focused on his music career, with his latest album "5IVE" continuing to dominate charts worldwide.
