Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has approved a welfare package for the father of the six children and their mother who were tragically murdered in the Chiranci Dorayi area of Kano. The package includes sponsorship for Hajj and Umrah, provision of a new house, and full government support to aid in his rehabilitation.
During a condolence visit to the bereaved family, Governor Yusuf expressed deep sorrow over the brutal incident and vowed to ensure swift justice for the victims. He directed security agencies to expedite the investigation and prosecution of the culprits, stating his readiness to sign death warrants if the court sentences them to death.
"The governor has approved the sponsorship of the bereaved father for Hajj and Umrah, alongside a new house and full welfare support," said Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the Governor's spokesperson. As part of efforts to restore the father's social life, the government will also assist him in remarrying if he chooses, covering all necessary requirements.
In a gesture of appreciation, the bereaved father, Haruna Bashir, donated his personal house to the Kano State Government for the construction of an Islamiyya school to benefit the Chiranci community.
Governor Yusuf reiterated the administration's commitment to the safety and well-being of all Kano residents, urging the community to remain vigilant and support ongoing security efforts.
