This 3.5-kilometre road connects key areas and enhances access to the Prof. Wole Soyinka Train Station, facilitating smoother transportation and economic activities in the region.
The commissioning is part of the celebrations for Ogun State's 50th anniversary, with Governor Abiodun announcing plans to inaugurate 20 additional roads across the state in the coming weeks.
Among the upcoming projects, construction is progressing on the 100-kilometre Sagamu Interchange Papalanto, Opele Road, described by the Governor as a critical east-west connector that will boost connectivity and trade within Ogun State.
Speaking at the event, Governor Abiodun emphasized the administration's commitment to infrastructure as a cornerstone of the "Building Our Future Together" agenda. "These roads are not just pathways; they are lifelines that connect communities, drive economic growth, and improve the quality of life for our people," he stated.
The Governor highlighted ongoing work on other major routes, including the 19-kilometer Atan-Lusada-Agbara Road in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area, where asphalt laying has commenced.
The ceremony was attended by key officials, including the Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Ade Akinsemoyin; Commissioner for Transportation, Engr. Olugbenga Dairo; former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Afolabi Afuape; and Head of Service, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya.
This initiative aligns with Ogun State's broader vision to create a robust transportation network that supports industrial growth, given the state's status as Nigeria's industrial hub.
With over 500 kilometers of roads constructed or rehabilitated since the administration's inception, these new projects underscore the government's dedication to sustainable development and prosperity for all residents.
