President Donald J. Trump today addressed global leaders at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, where he reiterated the United States' strategic interest in Greenland while explicitly ruling out the use of military force to acquire the territory.

President emphasized America's desire for peaceful negotiations with Denmark to secure control of the Arctic island, highlighting its importance for national security and economic opportunities.

In his remarks, President Trump stated, "I don’t have to use force. I don’t want to use force. I won’t use force." He added that while the U.S. would be "unstoppable" in any potential conflict, such measures are unnecessary and off the table.

The President called for "immediate negotiations" to discuss the acquisition, describing Greenland as a "giant mass of land" essential for protecting U.S. interests.

This statement marks a clarification amid recent tensions. Earlier this week, President Trump had declined to comment on the use of force during an interview, sparking concerns among European allies.

He has also imposed 10% tariffs on Denmark and several other European nations to encourage cooperation on the Greenland issue. The President argued that U.S. oversight would enhance security for NATO and the region, countering what he described as Europe's inadequate management.

President Trump further criticized European leadership, stating that the continent is "not heading in the right direction" and that certain places are "not recognizable." He touted America's economic strength and urged allies to recognize Greenland as effectively "part of North America" under U.S. influence.

The administration remains committed to diplomatic solutions that advance American prosperity and security. This approach aligns with President Trump's vision of fair deals that benefit the United States and its partners.
