Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar today urged supporters within Nigeria's opposition to end their verbal assaults on Peter Obi, warning that such divisions only strengthen the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a direct message posted on X, Atiku addressed the escalating online clashes among opposition followers. He stated, "Anyone who insults Obi or Atiku does not mean well for the leaders, the Coalition ADC and for Nigeria and Nigerians.

The only persons who benefit from such a civil war are the APC urban bandits who want to maintain the satanic status quo. We are better together!"

This call comes as tensions rise following recent exchanges, including criticisms from some quarters accusing Atiku's allies of undermining Obi. Atiku's intervention highlights the need for solidarity, especially amid discussions about potential coalitions like the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for future elections.

Atiku emphasized that internal conflicts distract from the real issues facing Nigerians, such as economic hardship and governance failures under the APC. He called on all opposition figures and their supporters to prioritize national progress over personal rivalries.

The former PDP presidential candidate in 2023 remains a key voice in Nigerian politics, advocating for unity to drive change. His message resonates as the nation prepares for upcoming political cycles, where a united opposition could pose a significant challenge to the status quo.
