The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) is proud to announce a groundbreaking partnership with the Enterprise Development Centre (EDC) of Pan-Atlantic University to develop and launch a dedicated digital skills platform.

This innovative initiative will provide Corps Members nationwide with accessible, structured online learning tools focused on digital competencies, entrepreneurship education, and practical resources aligned with Nigeria's dynamic labour market demands.

The new platform represents a significant evolution of the NYSC's Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme, which has been empowering youth since 2012.

By leveraging digital technology, the initiative aims to equip young Nigerians serving in the Corps with modern, job-ready skills including digital literacy, entrepreneurial strategies, and tools for self-employment in an increasingly technology-driven economy.

During a recent high-level visit to the EDC headquarters in Lagos, NYSC Director-General, Brigadier-General Olakunle Nafiu, expressed strong enthusiasm for the collaboration.

“I am excited about the partnership we have built over the years, and the direction we are headed is particularly laudable,” he stated. “Our Corps Members will gain access to proper skill-learning techniques that match current entrepreneurship requirements."

"We recognize that we cannot achieve this alone, and EDC stands out as one of our foremost partners to restructure, remodel, and redefine our plans.”

Dr. Olawale Anifowose, Programmes and Partnerships Director at EDC, highlighted the platform's potential impact: “This visit marks a huge step toward defining our offering for Corps Members access to our SME toolkit and all the resources needed to thrive as entrepreneurs in Nigeria.” He emphasized that the digital platform will deliver tailored entrepreneurial education and structured learning paths to support sustainable business creation and growth.

The Director of NYSC's SAED programme, Kehinde Aremu-Cole, noted that this development builds on years of progress in skills acquisition while adapting to contemporary needs. The platform will complement ongoing efforts, including recent integrations of artificial intelligence, mobile app development, and other digital innovations into SAED training.

This initiative aligns with broader national goals of promoting digital inclusion, reducing youth unemployment, and fostering entrepreneurship. It positions Corps Members to become active contributors to Nigeria's digital economy and post-service career success.

The NYSC remains committed to partnerships that enhance Corps Members' employability and entrepreneurial capabilities. Further details on the platform's launch timeline, features, and access will be announced soon.
