In a touching moment that captured the spirit of appreciation and community support during Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s second-term inauguration, 74-year-old Madam Grace Okafor presented the governor with a live fowl as a personal gift.

The ceremony, held at Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka, drew dignitaries and residents from across Anambra State. Madam Okafor, a native of Abatete in Idemili North Local Government Area, arrived at the venue in a wheelchair.

She danced enthusiastically toward the podium while carrying the fowl in a bucket, eliciting cheers and applause from the excited crowd.

Madam Okafor explained that the gift was her way of thanking Governor Soludo for a ₦100,000 cash support she received from him during a community event in Eziowelle.

She invested the funds in poultry farming, and the live fowl represented part of the successful proceeds from that venture.

“I came to witness the swearing-in of Gov. Soludo, ‘Oluatuegwu,’ because he gave me ₦100,000 during an event in my community in Eziowelle. I invested the money in poultry, and this fowl is part of the proceeds. I am here to show my appreciation to him,” she said.

This simple yet profound gesture highlights the impact of Governor Soludo’s people-oriented initiatives, which continue to empower citizens, particularly the elderly and vulnerable, to become self-reliant through agriculture and small-scale enterprises.

The governor’s administration has prioritized such interventions as part of broader efforts to build a prosperous, sustainable, and inclusive Anambra State.

Governor Soludo’s second term was formally inaugurated today, reinforcing his commitment to good governance, economic transformation, and community development.
