The Kingdom of Bahrain confirms that an Iranian missile strike targeted a unit at the Bapco Energies refinery, the nation's largest and most critical oil refining facility earlier today, resulting in a significant fire.

The incident occurred in the Ma'ameer/Sitra industrial area, where the state-owned refinery processes a substantial portion of Bahrain's petroleum output. Emergency response teams, including civil defense and firefighting units, were immediately mobilized. The blaze was rapidly brought under control and has now been fully contained and extinguished.

Bapco Energies and relevant authorities confirm the following key details: No casualties or injuries were reported among refinery personnel or nearby residents. Refinery operations continue without interruption, ensuring ongoing supply stability for domestic and export needs.

A comprehensive damage assessment is underway to evaluate the impact on the affected unit and determine any required repairs or maintenance.

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and government leadership have been briefed, and the Kingdom strongly condemns this unprovoked aggression, which violates Bahrain's sovereignty and threatens regional energy security and stability.

Bahrain remains committed to the safety of its citizens, workforce, and critical infrastructure. The government, in coordination with Bapco Energies, will provide further updates as the assessment progresses.

Bapco Energies, Bahrain's integrated energy company, operates the Sitra refinery with a capacity of approximately 267,000 barrels per day, playing a vital role in the national economy and global energy markets.
