Dr. Oyedele, a renowned fiscal policy and taxation expert, currently serves as Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms. Appointed to this role in July 2023 by President Tinubu, he has led efforts to overhaul Nigeria's tax system, promote harmonization of taxes, improve revenue administration, and design policies to support sustainable economic growth and ease of doing business.
Before his public service appointment, Dr. Oyedele had a distinguished 22-year career at PwC, where he rose to become Fiscal Policy Partner and Africa Tax Leader.
His deep expertise in public finance, economic policy, and tax administration positions him uniquely to contribute to the Federal Ministry of Finance's mandate under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
The nomination replaces Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite, who has been redeployed to serve as Minister of State in the Ministry of Budget and National Planning.
President Tinubu has formally conveyed Dr. Oyedele's nomination to the Senate for confirmation in a letter addressed to the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio.
